How We Raise our Meat Birds

Here at Good Dog Farms LLC, we purchase our meat chickens as chicks from a local hatchery.

We do not use any medication in any of their feed and use higher protein feed then our egg layers for growth, which we also purchase at our local feed mill.

What if they get sick? Well for issues that can be treated with antibiotics we use liquid Silver instead to fight off the infection. If they get bumble foot or other issues we give them an Epsom bath and treat ourselves with either pulling or cutting or whatever that needs to be done ourselves with no antibiotics.

They are kept in either chicken tractors or free ranging with our egg layers once they are old enough to be together.

Once they get to a good weight we butcher them ourselves.

Coming up this year we are going to take them to a butcher to get more of a variety then just a whole chicken.
